A Leadership framework
Managers, aspiring Managers, and top-level Leaders are all concerned with developing the competencies they need to become more effective leaders. More than 100 years of Leadership research has outlined the successful skills and abilities that are associated with leadership effectiveness.
There are different views on what constitute Leadership competencies. However, I think that the LEADERSHIP QUALITIES FRAMEWORK SELF ASSESSMENT EXERCISE 2015 provides a good all round approach to Leadership qualities. There are twelve qualities within this Leadership Framework covering a range of personal, cognitive, and social qualities. They are arranged in three “clusters” – personal qualities, setting direction and delivering the service.
The idea of this exercise is to go through the 3 clusters and self assess yourself against each of the qualities, noting positives/strengths and development areas, to give you ideas and actions to work on.
